Dr Deidre Sun

Dr Sun graduated in medicine from University of Sydney in 1990 and began her anaesthesia experience in the UK in 1995. She obtained her Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2002. She completed her paediatric anaesthesia fellowship at the Westmead Children’s Hospital in 2002, followed by a neuroanaesthesia fellowship and then a general clinical research fellowship in Vancouver, Canada in 2003-2004. She is a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, the Australian Society of Anaesthetists and the Australian Medical Association.
She works at Nepean Public Hospital where she is involved in teaching medical students and anaesthesia trainees. Dr Sun works in private practice anaesthesia at Macquarie University Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital, Westmead Private Hospital, City West and Alexandria Specialist Day Hospitals. Her areas of special interest in anaesthesia include Orthopaedic, Paediatric dentistry, Opthalmology, and Urology surgery. She has an interest in perioperative medicine and anaesthesia for the elderly. Currently she is the Quality Assurance lead in the Department of Anaesthesia at Macquarie University Hospital.
Dr Sun also has interests in rock climbing, backcountry skiing, hiking, surfing, and cycling which she actively pursues in her spare time.
