About Us

In more detail, our services and benefits provided include:

Norwest Anaesthesia is an administration and billing service for Anaesthetists in private practice. Norwest Anaesthesia is a branch of Norwest Central Healthcare Pty Ltd, a medical hub established by husband and wife, Dr Gianpiero Traini (John) and Dr Linda Saad. John is an anaesthetist and Linda is a General Practitioner, both with over 20 years’ experience in their field.

We are based in Norwest at Level 3 Suite 307, 10 Century Circuit Norwest NSW 2153. (The building just opposite the lakeside restaurants and pool complex, facing Norwest Boulevard)

Norwest Anaesthesia was established to provide a more personalised and comprehensive anaesthetic billing service, that also provides collegial support and mentoring to new or established anaesthetists. This should greatly improve the quality of your work-life balance. We aim to greatly reduce your administrative burden, guiding you through all aspects of billing set-up and registration with Medicare and Health Funds. Every ongoing aspect of anaesthetic practice is taken care of, including theatre list management, informed financial consent, billing and fees collection, debt collection management, holiday relieving, transparent fair allocation of incoming work, pre-op patient health questionnaire, patient surveys, and provision of consulting rooms.

1. Informed Financial Consent & Prepayment Service

Time permitting, all patients that have an out-of-pocket expense will be given informed financial consent so they have an estimate of your Anaesthesia fee with approximate rebate and ‘out-of-pocket’ details. We communicate with your Surgeon's rooms proactively to obtain information on all the patients you will be providing an anaesthetic for and send out an informed financial consent to each of them as required, usually via Meditrust Software SMS. We ensure that your patients have read the informed financial consent and signed the form before their surgery takes place.

During this process we are also able to obtain prepayments of total fees or out of pocket fees from patients if required. Patients are also free to contact the office via telephone, fax, email or website to request estimates.

2. Invoice processing and fees collection

After the procedure date, Anaesthetists send us final patient details along with any other necessary details. A customised template is available for patient labels and other required information, and this can be emailed to the office for processing. Invoices are then issued to patients, health funds, medicare, insurance companies or veteran affairs for payment.

All payments are paid directly to your account. Patients can pay via Credit Card, direct bank transfer, or BPay, all via our website or Meditrust website if so desired. All outstanding anaesthetic billing invoices are followed up frequently by our staff, and you are regularly given updates regarding payments. Although very uncommon, we do utilise our debt collection company to collect an invoice that has not been paid. This is only done with your consent.

3. High quality and efficient administrative and secretarial support

You and your patients will get a personalised and friendly service.
You and your patient can contact our administration staff regarding any aspect of the anaesthetic service. If the question requires more specialist advice, one of our Specialist Anaesthetists can assist with the question.

4. Use of office facilities, including:

  • Consultation room for pre or post Anaesthesia consultations.

  • Computer, TV and internet access.

  • Kitchen and coffee facilities.

  • Meeting room.

5. Competitive fees

There are no costs associated with setting you up for Anaesthetic billing with us. Our pricing is very competitive and we feel is exceptional value for the service you receive. Meditrust software does have a monthly licence fee and also charges for SMS service, however we feel that the benefits of this system far outweigh any costs.

6. Continuity of service

When you take time off for holidays or conferences etc, any telephone enquiries will still be answered, accounts and receipts will still be processed and payments will still be made into your account.

7. Collegiality and networking

We aim to foster a culture of collegiality, camaraderie and teamwork, and encourage the training, mentoring and support of the next generation of anaesthetists.

We promote exchange of ideas between anaesthetists to enhance knowledge in anaesthesia.

Anaesthetists are encouraged to embrace the following core values:

  • A commitment to clinical and professional excellence.

  • Fair and reasonable fees.

  • To support fellow anaesthetists within the group both clinically and non-clinically.

  • Maintain the group’s high reputation.

  • Participation in continuing medical education.

  • Respect for all staff and fellow members.

8. Website

Our website is available for patient enquiries, fee quotations, pre / post Anaesthetic questionnaire, and comprehensive information about their anaesthetic journey, including information regarding Fees and Gaps.
There are also links to the ASA and ANZCA websites as well as other relevant links. Individual Anaesthetists are given their own profile and photo on the website.

9. Use of the latest cloud-based practice management software

We use ‘MediTrust’ as our software medical billing provider. This is an Australian owned and operated company and is used by over 50 anaesthetic groups. Their computer servers are based in Australia and they fully comply with all regulations as legislated by The Privacy Act. All aspects of anaesthetic service can be done via this software, including patient fee estimates, pre-payments, pre-operative anaesthetic questionnaires, invoicing, receipting and post-operative patient surveys. You can find more information from the MediTrust website.

As Meditrust is a secure cloud-based system, you can access all procedure, billing and payment details at any time.

Regular emails are sent by the system to yourself regarding consent or billing information.

10. Setting you up for private billing

We can complete all the paperwork for setting you up with Meditrust, Banking, Health funds and Medicare.

We can also arrange business cards and stationery to be printed for you.
