Who We Are

Norwest Anaesthesia (a branch of Norwest Central Healthcare Pty Ltd) provides an administrative and billing service to a group of like-minded specialist anaesthetists working mainly in metropolitan Sydney and elsewhere. These doctors practice at a number of hospitals including: Norwest Private Hospital, Nepean Private Hospital, Westmead Private Hospital, Sydney Adventist Hospital, City West Specialist Day Procedure Centre, Pennant Hills Day Surgery.

 

All these anaesthetists are highly trained specialist doctors skilled in the areas of peri-operative medicine, general and regional anaesthesia, intensive care, pain management and resuscitation. After completing their medical degree, most undergo an additional 2-3 years of general hospital training and then another 5-6 years of specialist training in anaesthesia. They offer a wide range of anaesthetic services for all types of surgery and medical procedures, and also provide analgesia for pregnant patients in labour. They also participate in teaching of students and trainees.

 

The anaesthetists aim is to provide high-quality and safe anaesthetic care to all patients throughout their surgical journey. Their specialist training and experience makes Australia one of the safest countries in the world to undergo Anaesthesia, so you are in safe hands.

 

They all are Fellows of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA). They have a strong commitment to continuing professional improvement and maintain all professional standards by participation in the ANZCA continuing professional development program which meets the standard set by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for ongoing medical registration. Most are members of the Australian Medical Association and the Australian Society of Anaesthetists.

 

Each doctor in the group acts independently and determines separately their own type of practice and fees. They are supported by our administrative staff with billing and communication with patients, surgeons, other medical specialists and hospitals. The doctors support each other with ongoing education, exchange of knowledge and ideas, clinical and non-clinical advice, and cover for work when required.
